Man who stayed in IIT Bombay for 20 days granted bail with conditions
A 22-year-old man, who is alleged to have sneaked into IIT Bombay and stayed for 20 days, was granted bail by a magistrate court on Wednesday. The youth told court that he is suffering from a learning disability.
“To even remotely insinuate that he is capable of committing any crime would be a travesty in light of the medical condition of the applicant,” said the bail plea. While the detailed order is yet to be made available, the court allowed his plea with conditions.
On June 17, an FIR was filed by the Powai police on the complaint of a security guard who alleged that the man had been staying in different hostels of the institution between June 2 till June 7 and then again between June 10 till June 19. The allegation also was that he had attended lectures without being a student of the institution."
